Our History
Founded in 1967 by local Speech-Language Pathologist Pat Von Fisher Geldard, the Anderson-Oconee Clinic recently celebrated their 50-year anniversary. The clinic serves Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties. After receiving a grant in 1969 from Sertoma’s Anderson Club to buy equipment, the Anderson-Oconee Clinic became an official affiliate of Sertoma International in 1978. Today, the Anderson, Clemson, Foothills, Oconee, Seneca, and Walhalla Sertoma clubs support the clinic.
Dr. Dick Brandon joined the clinic in 1980 and has been the clinic’s resident audiologist and director for the past 38 years. The clinic offers diagnostic testing, treatment and therapy for their clients, which range from newborns to the elderly. An estimated 2,000 refurbished hearing aids have been distributed through the Anderson-Oconee Clinic.
